Apple has released the 3.1 firmware for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The new software includes the following new features:

• Improved syncing for music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos
• iTunes U content organization
• Redeem iTunes Gift Cards, codes, and certificates in the App Store
• Display available iTunes account credits in the App Store and iTunes Store

iPod Touch 3rd Gen Released with No Camera

Apple has updated the iPod Touch with a faster processor. The iPod Touch was rumored to include a camera but that is not the case. The new model costs $299 for the 32GB version. The second generation iPod Touch has dropped from $229 to $199 for the 8GB model.

Apple has released an new iPod Nano with a Video Camera and an FM Radio. The video camera does not take pictures. Pricing is set at $149 for the 8GB model and $179 for the 16GB model.

"It's only rock and roll, but we like it" Apple Event Tomorrow

Apple is expected to announce new iPod Touch and iPod Nano models tomorrow at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. iTunes 9 is also rumored to be announced. An iPhone firmware update is also expected. The event starts at 10AM PT/1 PM ET. There have been some reports that the release of the iPod Touch will be delayed because there is a problem with the camera, but Apple is expected to at least announce the product.
