During a 10 minute period on July 18th a corrupt file package was posted to Cydia. If Cydia was launched during those 10 minutes, then the packages on your iPhone or iPod Touch have become corrupted. This causes Cydia to crash upon launching the app. To fix this problem you must download this tool for Windows. ScreenSplitr is an app from Cydia that allows you to display your iPhone screen on your TV while still using your iPhone. The TV will display what is happening on the iPhone live. Just install ScreenSplitr from Cydia and connect an AV Cable to your TV from your iPhone or iPod Touch and the app will display a badge that says On. The TV should now show your iPhone's screen.
Before attempting this make sure that you are on firmware 3.0 and have jailbroken your iPhone 3GS. Also, make sure that your phone is activated by AT&T or another official carrier. Although, an update is expected to be released shortly that will add hacktivation support and fix Push.
George Hotz has released an iPhone 3GS unlock tool called Purplesn0w. This tool is supposed to fix many bugs with Ultrasn0w such as low battery life, wifi failing, connection problems, and more.
Apple has announced a press release stating that 1.5 Billion apps have been downloaded in the App Store's first twelve months. In addition, there are 65,000 applications available in the App Store. Also, Apple announced that they have sold 40 million iPhone's and iPod Touch's.
To get MMS on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS on firmware 3.0 you must navigate to Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network. Then add these settings in the MMS field:

After make sure you reboot your phone and then the picture icon will show up in the Messages application. This will allow you to send pictures, videos, and audio clips for the same price as a text.
If you have AT&T and want to enable MMS you will have to input AT&T's MMS settings, but first you must install an APN editor from Cydia that will allow editing of the APN for AT&T as well as other networks that don't allow APN editing.

For the AT&T settings to work properly you must make sure that MMS is added to your AT&T account.
Another turn by turn directions application has appeared in the AppStore called G-Map. This app has voice guidance as well as 3D Maps. This app is available in three versions G-Map West ($34.99), G-Map East ($34.99), and G-Map California ($19.99). G-Map is much better than the AT&T Navigator app and ends up costing a lot less too. You don't need a data connection to use this app, so if you're in an area with no wireless connectivity this app will still be able to track your location with the built in GPS.

1. Download iPhuc from here.
2. Download the 1.1.1 firmware file for the iPod Touch from here.
And the 1.1.2 firmware from here (to upgrade later).
4. Connect your iPod or iPhone to the computer and launch iPhuc. Make sure that iPhuc connects to your unit. If iTunes starts up, quit it.
5. Enter recovery Type enterrecovery, press return and quit iPhuc. Your unit should go into recovery mode.
6. Relaunch iPhuc. You should now see the recovery mode options. Enter filecopytophone followed by the path to the WTF file and press return. Then Enter cmd go and press return. Quit iPhuc.
7. Launch iTunes. It will complain that it has found an iPod or iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK. Then Option-Click (Mac) or Shift-Click (Windows) the Restore button.
8. Choose the 1.1.1 ipsw file and start your restore. If all is well and good, your iPhone or iPod touch will downgrade succesfully.
9. If you run into error 1015, connect your newly restored unit to INdependence (Mac) or iBrickr (PC) or try issuing a cmd fsboot from iPhuc. (This step for iPhone)
1. Upgrade iTunes to v7.6
2. Click on Check for Updates if Automatic Updates is turned off.
3. Click Update and update to 1.1.3
4. Once your iPod is updated to 1.1.3, a screen will come up asking you if you want to purchase the Software Upgrade (w/ the iPhone apps, etc)
5. If you want to buy the upgrade, then click purchase, if you don’t want to then, click on No, thanks.
6. Sync your iPod to get the iPhone apps on and your all set.

2. Navigate to private/var/root/Library/Customize/PowerSliderImage/Backup/ for the Power Slider Image
3. And Navigate to /private/var/root/Library/Customize/MainSliderImage/Backup/ for the Main Slider Image

2. Click Sources
3. Click Edit on the upper right hand corner and when it ask you for a URL, put this one in: sleepers.net/iphonerepo
4. Wait for the resources to load and then press install. IMPORTANT!!! Remember that you dont have space yet to install anything new, so first you are going to have to uninstall some apps. Then Search for the category that says Utilities.
5. Look for Boss Tool and install it. (if you dont find It in the utilities Category then go to All Packages and search for it. Its listed in Alphabetical order).
6. Go Home and wait for Springboard to restart. When it does search for the Boss Tool App and press it.
7. Press where it says Free Disk space.
8. Press where it says to Move Apps.
9. Press the "Do It" button.
10. DONE!!

3. Navigate to /Applications/psx4all.app
4. Drag the file you downloaded (scph1001.bin) into this directory.

6. Drag your psx roms into this directory (make sure the roms are in an .img file format).
7. Go to your iPod Touch and go to PSX4all

1. Download this file first gba_bios.bin
2. Download GBA ROMs .
3. Extract the roms until the file type is a GBA file.
4. FTP into your ipod using WinSCP or CuteFTP and Navigate to /Media/
5. Create a folder called "ROMs"
6. In the ROMs folder create another folder called "GBA"
7. Copy your roms from your pc to your ipod
8. Navigate to /Applications/gpSPhone.app/
9. Copy the gba_bios.bin file into /Applications/gpSPhone.app/
10. Change the properties to 755
11. Restart your ipod and gpSPhone should work and your roms will be there and you can now play GBA games.
Make sure you have downloaded gpSPhone from Installer or manually placed it on your ipod touch.

Jailbroken 1.1.2 device
Latest Version of installer
Open SSH and Services installed on 1.1.2
BSD Subsystem 1.5 or greater (2.0 is current)
Turn Autolock to "never"
This should take about an hour. If it doesn't reboot automatically then manually restart it.
3. Install 1.1.3 Jailbreak+iPhone Apps
4. This will take about an hour to install. If it doesn't restart automatically, then manually reboot it.
This will also install the iPhone apps for you for free, so you don't have to pay the $20.

1. Download the 1.1.3 Jailbreak Special Edition of iBrickr from here.
2. Extract the files to your desktop.
3. Run the file "iBrickr"
4. Click on "Check my Phone"
5. The click "Do It" it will download a file to your iPod.
6. Click on "Download 1.1.3 Firmware from Apple". It will download the 1.1.3 firmware.
7. Click on "Do you have to Ask"
8. Then click on "Ready to Go"
9. It will upload the new firmware image to your ipod/iPhone. This will take about 15 minutes.
10. Go into Installer and Install the package "1.1.3 soft upgrade"
11. This will take another 10 minutes to Install. If it stops at half way it ok.
12. Your iPod will automatically reboot into 1.1.3 already Jailbroken.
NOTE: Your iPod must be jailbroken on 1.1.2 before doing this. Even though this was originally developed for the iPhone, it still works on the iPod Touch w/o any problems.

1. Download the 1.1.3 Jailbreak file from here.
2. Extract the files to your desktop.
3. Run the file "jailbreak.bat"
4. Enter your iPod's IP address (find by going to settings>wifi>blue arrow
5. Enter your SSH/FTP password (the default password is alpine).
6. Just wait and everything else should work on its own.
7. If it stops at 100%, don't worry, just wait. This takes roughly 20 minutes.
8. Your iPod should automatically Restart. If it doesn't, then manually restart it.
9. DONE!! This will also install the January Software Update for you for FREE! with the iPhone apps and wiggling icons and web clips.
NOTE: Your iPod must be jailbroken on 1.1.2 before doing this. This method works on both the iPhone and iPod Touch.

1. Go into Settings and set your Auto Lock settings to Never
2. Open Installer. Click Sources. Click Edit. Click Add.
3. Then add this source: iJailbreak: ijailbreak.com/repo.plist
4. Then under the iJailbreakMobile category, install iJailbreak 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, depending on which firmware you have.
5. Then on the Home Screen Open the application iJailbreak and wait about 25-30 minutes, it could be longer or shorter, depending on your internet connection.
6. Your iPod will automatically restart on its own and you’ll be Jailbroken on 1.1.3.
With this Jailbreak you can upgrade to 1.1.3 from a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 Jailbroken iPod.
