iPhone 4 Announced at WWDC

Steve Jobs announced the fourth generation iPhone, iPhone 4, at the WWDC today. It includes many enhancements such as a new design. iPhone 4 is set to be released on Thursday, June 24. Apple will start taking pre-orders on June 15. iPhone 4 is available in 16GB and 32GB capacities that cost $199 and $299 each with a two-year contract with AT&T.

Dev Team Releases PwnageTool 3.1.3 for Mac

The iPhone Dev has released Pwnage Tool for Mac only. The new version jailbreaks the following devices on firmware 3.1: iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 1G, and iPod Touch 2G. The third generation iPod Touch is not yet supported. All iPhones can be unlocked on firmware 3.1 using Ultrasn0w. The first generation iPhone can be unlocked through Pwnage Tool. Make sure that you do not update to the official 3.1 firmware. Updating to 3.1 will update your baseband making it impossible to unlock or jailbreak your phone. Dev Team Releases PwnageTool 3.1 for Mac

The iPhone Dev Team has released Pwnage Tool for Mac that allows you to jailbreak the iPhone and iPod Touch on firmware 3.1


  1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should only upgrade to 3.1 with a PwnageTool created .ipsw. - Stay away from Apple’s direct updates, please get up to speed on the whole subject by reading the information contained in these posts.
  2. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.1 unlock works with this PwnageTool release. iPhone 3G users upgrading to 3.1 will need to continue using ultrasn0w with a PwnageTool created 3.1 .ipsw
  3. Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
  4. Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
  5. At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the 3.1 capable version of PwnageTool.
  6. This app is suitable for the recent 3.1 release.
  7. This version of PwnageTool will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.

Apple is expected to announce new iPod Touch and iPod Nano models tomorrow at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. iTunes 9 is also rumored to be announced. An iPhone firmware update is also expected. The event starts at 10AM PT/1 PM ET. There have been some reports that the release of the iPod Touch will be delayed because there is a problem with the camera, but Apple is expected to at least announce the product.
